This gourd sits upon a piece of Cholla Rib for a stand. The entire gourd is embellished with symbols and themes found on many walls, paintings, rugs and so many other medias that boast of their importance to Native Americans. This gourds main themes are the Hummingbird and the Kokopelli. The "Trickster" god; Kokopelli shown dancing within a global sphere full of geometric lines. Piercing the Kokopelli is a decorative arrow full of colorful plummage. The Hummingbird on the obverse side is a clean view of the bird often portrayed as healers, light bringers, and helpers from Spirits who carry luck, joy, and love to those they greet along their journey. The various symbols surrounding this gourd range from Thunderbirds to Sunbursts to diamonds and other indeginous symbols that are important to the Native American people.
