A unique rendition of Ranch Life in the 50's. This gourd relates three (3) different views of what we might see on a ranch that typifies everyday life. I have attempted to recreate actual scenes at the ranch in real life. This gourd measures 6 inches in diameter and 6-1/2 inches tall. The wood stand seen in the images, is a hand-carved, Mango Wood, Tri-pod type of gourd stand. I choose these particular stands as they are a perfect fit for the gourds I create and also allows folks a full - 360 degree view of the gourd.
The top of this gourd is laced with "real leather" cord. In addition, when looking at the saddle on this gourd, you'll see that I have included a small silver fetish emulating a Cowboy Hat and Guitar. Note the saddle is a tan leather with Rosettes, Silver Conchos and fine tooling all around the saddle. Rotating the gourd to the next scene we find the typical "Ranch Hand" reading his paper in the bunkhouse. Note the detail in the hat, the face and 5 o-clock shadow on his beard, not to mention his colorful bandanna. Finally, scene three shows the most used and vital tool on the Ranch; The noble and powerful horse. This horse is a sorrel with a flaxen mane and tail. Note, quaintly decorated and braided into this horses mane, we see 2 - Eagle Feathers.
A simple, but accurate representation of life on the Ranch.
